Faculty and Mentorship
Empowering Students through Guided Mentorship and Academic Leadership
At RCPIT, we believe that student success is rooted in personalized mentorship and visionary academic leadership. We have built a robust ecosystem where faculty serve not just as instructors, but as advisors, mentors, and role models—ensuring every student is guided, challenged, and supported throughout their academic journey.
Local Guardian Scheme (LGS)
The Local Guardian Scheme (LGS) is a cornerstone of our student-centric support model.
Structure:
- Each faculty member is assigned 15–20 students as mentees.
- The relationship begins in the first year and continues throughout the four-year program.
- Local Guardians function as academic advisors, life coaches, and first responders for student concerns.
Responsibilities of Local Guardians:
- Monitor academic progress, attendance, and behavioral growth.
- Offer guidance on course selection, internships, competitive exams, and higher studies.
- Conduct periodic 1:1 mentoring sessions and group meets.
- Provide emotional support and mediate communication with parents if needed.
- Maintain mentorship records reviewed by HoDs and Deans each semester.
- Parent Meetings.
Impact:
- Stronger faculty-student rapport
- Early identification of learning or emotional challenges
- Holistic development and improved retention
