The Engineering Workshop Where Ideas Take Physical Form, at RCPIT is a vibrant ecosystem of hands-on learning, industrial-grade training, and innovation. With a total workshop infrastructure of over 1,010 sq. m, it combines time-tested engineering practices with cutting-edge manufacturing technologies to prepare students for the real-world challenges of industry and entrepreneurship.

The workshop facilities are strategically divided into:

  • Basic Workshop: 400 sq. m
  • Specialized Workshop for Advanced Technologies: 200 sq. m
  • Innovation & Competition Zones: 410 sq. m

Together, these purpose-built spaces support curriculum-based training, interdisciplinary collaboration, student projects, and national-level technical competitions.

Core Engineering Workshop

Dedicated to building foundational technical skills across all branches of engineering, the Basic Workshop houses fully equipped, discipline-specific sections:

Fitting Shop

  • Bench vices, hand tools, measuring instruments
  • Training in filing, tapping, reaming, drilling, and precision layout techniques

Welding Shop

  • Arc, MIG, and TIG welding units
  • Workstations for butt, lap, and corner joints
  • Welding booths with enforced safety measures

Sheet Metal Shop

  • Shearing, bending, rolling, and riveting tools
  • Practice in forming ducts, chassis panels, and basic enclosures

Carpentry Shop

  • Saws, chisels, planers, and joinery benches
  • Exercises in mortise and tenon joints, wooden models, and structural frames

Machine Shop

  • Industrial-grade lathe, milling, shaping, and surface grinding machines
  • Precision machining with real job materials and production tolerances

Blacksmithy Shop

  • Furnaces, anvils, hammers, and swage blocks
  • Forging of tools, hooks, and hardware using hot working techniques

Foundry Shop

  • Molding benches, patterns, and sand testing tools
  • Live pouring demonstrations with aluminum/cast iron for small castings

CNC Lab

3D Printing & Prototyping Zone

  • FDM 3D printers, slicing tools, CAD integration

Electric Motor & E-Mobility Bay

Vehicle & Motor Club Workshop
