The Department of Information Technology at R. C. Patel Institute of Technology (RCPIT), Shirpur was initially established in 2001 and re- established in 2024 to reflect the evolving demands of the digital era. The department is dedicated to preparing students to meet the dynamic challenges of the IT industry through a balanced blend of foundational knowledge, technical expertise, and innovation-focused learning.

The curriculum is carefully crafted to cover the core areas of software development, data structures, networking, web technologies, cybersecurity, databases, and cloud computing, alongside emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, and blockchain. Emphasis is placed on problem-solving, coding proficiency, system design, and practical exposure through labs and live projects.

The department aims to produce industry-ready IT professionals who are also equipped with interpersonal, ethical, and entrepreneurial skills to thrive in both national and global tech ecosystems.
