AI Agents for Teaching, Research and Software Development

The Department of Computer Engineering, R. C. Patel Institute of Technology, Shirpur organized a Five-Day National Level Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “AI Agents for Teaching, Research, and Software Development” from 27th to 31st July 2026, with more than 550 registrations from participants across India. The sessions were delivered by Mr. Ashmin Jayson, Founding Engineer, Polymath AI, Bangalore; Dr. Pankaj Kunekar, VIT, Pune; Prof. Dr. Nilesh Uke, Director and Professor, Indira College of Engineering and Management, Pune; Dr. Praveen Kumar Loharkar, Assistant Professor, SVKM's NMIMS, Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management and Engineering, Shirpur; and Dr. Debanga Raj Neog, Assistant Professor, IIT Guwahati. The sessions covered AI Agents and Agentic AI, Teaching and Learning, Research, Software Development, and Future Trends, with practical demonstrations and interactive discussions.

The FDP was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Jayantrao B. Patil, Director, Dr. Pramod J. Deore, Deputy Director, and Prof. Dr. Rajnikant B. Wagh, Head, Department of Computer Engineering. It was coordinated by Dr. Jayshri S. Sonawane (FDP Coordinator) and Dr. Shailendra M. Pardeshi (FDP Co-Coordinator), with the support of the organizing committee, faculty, and staff. The programme concluded with a valedictory session, feedback, and certificate distribution, and enhanced participants’ knowledge of using AI Agents in education, research, and software development.
