The NSS unit of the SES society R.C. Patel Institute of Technology, Shirpur in association with the 'ASTITVA' & Mukesh Patel Charitable Trust, Shirpur, organized a successful Blood Donation Camp on our campus on the auspicious occasion of birthday of Hon. Shri. Devendraji Fadnavis Chief Minister of Maharashtra on 22/07/2025.The Hon.Shri Rajgopal Bhandari, Vice President, SES Shirpur, Director Prof. Dr. J. B. Patil sir, and Deputy Director Prof. Dr. P.J. Deore sir, all HODs of various departments, teaching and non-teaching staff members, NSS volunteers and all students were present in the drawing hall for the inaugural ceremony. The importance of blood donation was highlighted by using social media channels such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook to reach out to young people for this worthy cause. The camp began at 10 a.m. Prof. Dr. J B Patil Sir addressed the students and explained the benefits of blood donation, including free primary health checkups, a lower risk of heart attack and risk of cancer, maintain iron levels, improve insulin sensitivity, and the satisfaction of saving someone's life. The blood bank employees were from the Jeevan Jyoti blood bank in Dhule. The blood bank performed a variety of blood tests, which are extremely useful in detecting several viruses in blood, including HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C. Throughout the Blood Donation event, all NSS volunteers and college personnel gave invaluable assistance. The blood donation camp was extended till 5 p.m. The Blood Donation Camp was met with enthusiastic support from both students and volunteers. Around 300 students, faculty, staff, and peon employees gave blood at the conclusion. Following blood donation, blood donors received certificates of blood donation and were offered energy drinks, chikki, Rajgira laddus, and biscuits to help them refuel.
