Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025

The Internal Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025 was successfully held at R. C. Patel Institute of Technology (RCPIT), Shirpur, organized by the Akatsuki Coding Club. The event was inaugurated by Director Prof. Dr. J. B. Patil, with guidance from Prof. Dr. P. J. Deore, Prof. Dr. R. B. Wagh, and support from all department heads. Special recognition goes to Prof. M. M. Mahajan (Institute SPOC) for coordinating the event seamlessly. Designed as a preparatory stage for the National SIH, the hackathon saw 109 teams (654 students: 348 male, 306 female) compete in two rounds. Round 1 (Department Level) shortlisted 70 teams from 110 based on novelty and feasibility, while Round 2 (Institute Level) further refined solutions judged by faculty and external experts, with 45 teams qualifying to represent RCPIT nationally and 5 on the waiting list. The event emphasized innovation, technical feasibility, scalability, problem alignment, and presentation quality, offering students mentorship, feedback, and interdisciplinary collaboration. SIH, India’s largest innovation platform, challenges students with over 200 problem statements across sectors like heritage, smart vehicles, health, agriculture, and education. Director Prof. Dr. J. B. Patil highlighted SIH’s role in fostering creativity and real-world problem-solving, while participants appreciated the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge practically. The event celebrated not just competition but creativity, collaboration, and a commitment to societal problem-solving.
