Virtual Lab (V-Lab) 2024-25

This year, the Virtual Lab (V-Lab) sessions were successfully conducted for Second Year (SY), Third Year (TY), and B.Tech students across various subjects including Python Programming Lab, Compiler Design, Software Engineering and Project Management, Machine Learning, Information Security, and more. [Photos attached] Well-equipped laboratories and up-to-date experimental setups are essential for quality engineering education. However, many institutions face challenges due to limited lab infrastructure and a shortage of experienced instructors. The Virtual Labs project addresses these challenges by offering remote access to simulation-based laboratories across multiple disciplines of science and engineering. The initiative aims not only to bridge the gap caused by inadequate lab resources and limited faculty, but also to spark curiosity and enable students to learn at their own pace. This student-centric approach enhances the understanding of both basic and advanced concepts through interactive, simulation-driven experiments. Additionally, internet-based labs offer rich resources including video lectures, animated demonstrations, and self-assessment tools. The key objectives of the Virtual Labs project include: • Providing access to online laboratories for engineering colleges that lack sufficient infrastructure • Supplementing physical labs in institutions that already have them • Enhancing skills through workshops and both in-person and online training programs Virtual Labs represent a shift towards "anytime, anywhere, any pace, any type" learning, redefining the landscape of student-focused, online technical education.
