Researchers from R.C. Patel Institute of Technology, Shirpur have secured a Government of India copyright for their project titled “Deep Convolutional Neural Network for Detecting Multiple Motor Faults from Raw Current Data.”

The team—Yogesh Kirange, Vinitkumar Patel, and Sachin Sayais—developed a low-cost AI-based system to detect faults in induction motors with high accuracy. Filed on June 25, 2025, the innovation reduces sensor needs by 50%, offering strong potential for industrial applications.
