A team of 20 Second-Year B.Tech Mechanical Engineering students from R. C. Patel Institute of Technology (RCPIT), Shirpur successfully participated in the prestigious SAEINDIA TIFAN 2026 (Tractor Innovation for Agricultural Needs) competition, organized by John Deere India Pvt. Ltd. in association with SAEINDIA at Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri, from 1–4 April 2026.

The national-level competition challenged engineering students from across India to design, fabricate, and evaluate innovative agricultural machines addressing the evolving needs of Indian farmers. Representing RCPIT, the student team developed an Automated Multi Vegetable Transplanter, demonstrating technical excellence, creativity, and a practical approach to agricultural mechanization.

Throughout the four-day event, the team underwent rigorous technical inspections, design evaluations, static presentations, and field performance tests, where they displayed outstanding engineering skills, teamwork, and dedication. Their innovative solution received appreciation from judges and industry experts for its potential contribution toward improving farming efficiency and reducing labour requirements.

In recognition of their commendable performance, all 20 team members were awarded Participation Certificates, while the entire team also received a Special Appreciation Certificate for their remarkable effort and technical achievement.

Participation in SAEINDIA TIFAN 2026 provided the students with invaluable hands-on experience in product design, manufacturing, testing, project management, and agricultural engineering, enabling them to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industrial applications.

The management, Principal, faculty members, and students of R. C. Patel Institute of Technology, Shirpur, congratulated the team and faculty mentors for their outstanding representation of the institute at the national level and wished them continued success in future engineering innovation competitions.
