A successful five-day national-level online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Generative AI and Emerging AI Technologies” was organized jointly by the Department of Data Science and the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at R. C. Patel Institute of Technology (Autonomous), Shirpur.

The programme included topics such as fundamentals of artificial intelligence, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, Responsible AI, and emerging cloud technologies. The programme also incorporated experience-based teaching and practical sessions for faculty members.

Under the guidance of Head of Department Dr. Ujwala Patil, the five-day programme was successfully conducted. Experts from reputed educational institutions and industries provided guidance to the participants. Dr. Prachi Kadam (AI Consultant, Golden Gate University, California), Dr. Mahesh (Principal, S. N. J. B. College of Engineering, Chandwad), Dr. Deepak Kumar (IIT, Vadodara), Dr. Hema Karande (AI Solutions, Andheri, Mumbai), Amol Mahanjan (Principal, Fr. Agnel Polytechnic), and Dr. Praveen Kumar Loharkar (N. M. A. M. S., Shirpur) participated as resource persons.

The experts provided detailed guidance on Generative AI, large language models, RAG, AI agents, prompt engineering, AI tools, and emerging AI technologies. They explained how these technologies can be used effectively in teaching, research, innovation, and industry-oriented applications.

The programme also focused on creating awareness about the responsible use of AI, ethical considerations, transparency, accountability, and the practical applications of Generative AI in the educational and professional sectors.

A large number of faculty members, researchers, postgraduate students and industry professionals participated in the FDP. Participants expressed that the sessions helped them gain practical knowledge and a better understanding of the rapidly developing field of AI.

At the valedictory ceremony, participants shared their experiences and appreciated the efforts made by the organizers. The programme coordinators Dr. Priti Sanjekar and Prof. Yogesh Pathak successfully handled the planning, coordination, session management and execution of the programme.

The programme was organized successfully with the support and cooperation of the principal, heads of departments, faculty members, staff and student volunteers. The organizers were appreciated for their efforts in conducting a successful national-level FDP on emerging AI technologies.
