The Research & Development Cell at R. C. Patel Institute of Technology (RCPIT), Shirpur, serves as a catalyst for academic innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and societal impact. Aligned with the institute's vision to foster a research-oriented culture, the R&D Cell empowers faculty and students to engage in meaningful, high-impact research, supported by strategic partnerships, funded projects, and global platforms.

Objectives of the R&D Cell

  • Cultivate a dynamic research ecosystem across all departments
  • Facilitate submission of research proposals to funding agencies and industry bodies
  • Promote interdisciplinary research addressing real-world challenges
  • Support conferences, workshops, and knowledge dissemination platforms
  • Encourage publications, patents, and innovative project outcomes
  • Build strong linkages with industry, academia, and research organizations
  • Recognize outstanding contributions by faculty and students

Key Initiatives & Achievements 2024–25

Aavishkar Research Convention – Institute & Zonal Levels

  • Two-phase event promoting student innovation across six multidisciplinary categories
  • Winners progressed to Zonal Level (Godavari College of Engineering) and University Level (Ichalkaranji, Kolhapur)
  • Outstanding Projects: Recycle Aggregate, Enviro Watch, Medi Hub, Krishi Dhara, Sanjivani (Women Safety)

IEEE YESIST12 – International Project Innovation Challenge

  • Project "Sanjivani – Women Safety" selected for IEEE YESIST12 2025
  • Finalists will present in the Grand Finale at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia
  • Mentored by Dr. T. H. Jaware; representing innovation at a global platform

Proposal for PNT Lab – IIT Tirupati

  • RCPIT submitted a detailed proposal to host a Positioning, Navigation & Timing Lab
  • In partnership with IIT Tirupati Navavishkar i-Hub Foundation (IITTNiF)
  • Commitment of 1000 sq. ft. lab space and 20+ collaborative projects annually

AICTE-VAANI Seminar Proposal

  • Seminar on "Advances in AI for Healthcare Applications" proposed under AICTE-VAANI Scheme
  • Proposed dates: September 12–13, 2025
  • Aims to explore AI innovations in medical technology and diagnostics

Recognized Ph.D. Supervisors

RCPIT is proud to have 10 faculty members recognized as official Ph.D. research supervisors by DBATU, Lonere, across disciplines such as:

This enhances the institute's capacity to offer doctoral-level research mentorship and further establish RCPIT as a knowledge-driven institution.

The R&D Cell at RCPIT aims to:

  • Establish Centre of Excellence (CoE) in emerging technologies
  • Secure national and international research grants
  • File and publish more patents and research papers
  • Expand student participation in interdisciplinary innovation challenges
