Applied Sciences & Humanities Mentor-Mentee (LG System):

The Institute has established a structured Local Guardian (LG) System to provide continuous academic, personal, emotional, and career guidance to every student. The mentoring system is designed to ensure holistic development through regular interaction between faculty mentors, students, parents, and alumni, while supporting the principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE).

Objectives:

  • Monitor students' academic performance and attendance.
  • Identify learning gaps and provide timely academic support.
  • Offer personal, emotional, and career counselling.
  • Strengthen parent–teacher–student communication.
  • Improve student retention, discipline, and academic success.
  • Enhance employability, professional skills, and personality development.

Local Guardian (LG) Structure:

  • First Year: One faculty mentor is assigned to a group of approximately 20-25 students.
  • Second Year to Final Year: Department faculty continue mentoring the students throughout the programme, ensuring consistent guidance and progress monitoring.

Mentoring Process:

The mentoring process includes

  • Regular monitoring of attendance and academic performance.
  • Individual and group mentoring sessions.
  • Identification of academic, personal, or behavioural issues.
  • Parent communication and counselling whenever required.
  • Documentation of mentoring records, meeting minutes, and follow-up actions.

Parent Engagement:

The Institute promotes active parent participation through

  • Semester-wise Parent–Teacher Meetings.
  • ERP and Parent App for attendance and academic progress.
  • Regular communication regarding academic performance, attendance, and student development.
  • Timely alerts and counselling support for students requiring additional attention.

Career & Professional Development:

The mentoring system is integrated with career development initiatives such as

  • Student Orientation & Induction Programme.
  • Employability Skill Development Programme (ESDP).
  • Aptitude and placement training.
  • Industry interaction through MoUs.
  • Alumni Mentorship Programme.
  • Foreign Language Cell and higher education guidance.
  • Psychological counselling and wellness support.
