Mentor–Mentee (Local Guardian) System

The Mentor–Mentee (Local Guardian) System is a structured student mentoring initiative implemented by the Department of Computer Engineering to provide continuous academic, professional, and personal guidance to every student. Under this system, each faculty member is assigned a group of students and serves as their Local Guardian (LG) throughout their academic journey.

The mentor regularly interacts with mentees to monitor their academic performance, attendance, technical progress, career aspirations, and overall well-being. The system facilitates timely identification of learning challenges, provides counselling and motivation, and encourages students to actively participate in co-curricular, extracurricular, research, innovation, and placement-related activities. Regular interactions with parents, wherever required, further strengthen the support system for holistic student development.

The Local Guardian System reflects the department's commitment to Outcome-Based Education (OBE) by fostering student-centric learning, enhancing academic performance, improving employability, and nurturing ethical values, leadership qualities, and lifelong learning skills.

Objectives
