Board of Studies (BoS)
The Board of Studies (BoS) is the statutory academic body of the Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, responsible for designing, reviewing, and continuously enhancing the curriculum to meet the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP), Outcome-Based Education (OBE), industry requirements, and the latest technological advancements. The Board ensures that the curriculum remains relevant, flexible, and aligned with the recommendations of the Academic Council, fostering academic excellence, innovation, research, and employability.
Functions of the Board of Studies
- Design, develop, review, and revise the curriculum and course syllabi.
- Recommend the introduction of new courses, professional electives, open electives, and value-added courses in emerging areas of Mechanical Engineering.
- Review and approve Program Outcomes (POs), Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs), Course Outcomes (COs), and their alignment with the curriculum.
- Integrate recent developments in CAD/CAE, CAM, Advanced Manufacturing, Automation and Robotics, IIoT, Industry 4.0, AI & ML for Manufacturing, Electric Vehicles, Additive Manufacturing, Computational Mechanics, Smart Materials, Renewable Energy Systems, Thermal Engineering, Mechatronics, Digital Manufacturing, and Sustainable Engineering into the curriculum.
- Recommend innovative teaching-learning methodologies, experiential learning, project-based learning, and industry-oriented practices.
- Suggest appropriate assessment and evaluation methods to strengthen Outcome-Based Education (OBE).
- Promote interdisciplinary learning, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, internships, and skill development.
- Encourage industry collaboration, consultancy, and professional certification to enhance student employability.
- Facilitate continuous curriculum improvement through stakeholder feedback, academic audits, and benchmarking with leading institutions.
- Submit curriculum revisions and academic recommendations to the Academic Council for approval.
